I have a question, and I don't know where else to post it.
I am going to try and attach an image of a hat. My question is, how close does it come in appearance to one worn by soldier in the last days of the war?
It is a Chicom Replica, I don't have a lot to pick from out here. it seems I cant post picture.
Here is a web site with a picture of one like it,

The way I look at it is if you turn the clock back to the war, and a feller come sneakin around a bush, and you couldn't tell what he was,,you may take action.
So even po folk like me got to try and look the part. The war we tote today is with keyboards, books and kind words, well mostly, I have refered to a few as "Damn Yankee"

As far as making it look old and authenic, I'd say just wear it everywhere. That's what I do with mine and by now it looks a bit more worn. If you ever go reenacting, wear it. If you're in the woods, wear it. Smile

By the way, I created a forum section for this kind of question and moved the topic there as well. Smile

Thank you Reb Yell Sir.
That said, let me offer this to you and possibly 2 more.
I got one of these replica hats, the plastic adjuster on the back just doesn't quite look right.
So I carefully cut the stitching that holds them to the hat and sewed in a leather strap that matches the one on the brim. Black and all. looks good.
If you need this modification, contact me.
If any one wants to do this them selves I will send instructions.
