When we were born, we had no idea that we were boys, or girls, we never realy figured it out till about the time we set on a potty.
My son is the perfect example, mid thirties, complaining about the government, how things should be. So I said, "So you are a Confederate." He just looked at me.

Then this other guy comes driving up in a jacked up 4x4 with the Rebel Flag in back window.
So I asked him, "Are you a Confederate?" he replied, "No, I am a Rebel".

My Son-In-Law was working on his Sand rail. He had an old gas tank in the back of the garage.
It has the Rebel Flag on it. I asked, "Whats that all about?", he replied "Lots of people put those on the gas tank".

I need to put together a simple way to explain to people, just what is a Confederate.
I take to long.

You hit the nail right on the head! But I wish people would quit using the CSA flag as a sign of being a rebel. The CSA was formed to preserve rights as well as our way of life. It was not used to become rebels. If you fly our flag then you are a Confederate. It symbolizes confederacy that was the sole purpose of the CSA, it was the basis of the government. If you do not support the confederacy take down our flag is how i see it because there was a lot of blood shed, especially from my ancestors, for the CSA and I do not want to see it's flag misrepresented or misused. Yes we are rebels but that is not who we are........ we are a Confederacy. That is my take on things.

Well, Back at ya, what you have written here is useful to me, I am terrible at putting words together, I'd never make a good public speaker.

What's even worse are the people who only fly the flag because they're a "Redneck".

Or, this: http://anythingrebel.com/images/products/R7149.jpg

It is difficult to check if those flying the Confederate flags are true to the cause or not. Some anarchist uses the Battle Flag of the Army of Northern Virginia only knowing it as a flag of rebellion.

I hope someday we can filter out those who are true to the cause from those who have different intent in flying the flag.

I have noticed that lately too. I hope they can find themselves another symbol of rebellion.
