New Confederate States? Empty New Confederate States?

Post by RebYell Mon Sep 22, 2014 5:18 pm

If the Secession movement takes hold, which states, other than the original 13, do you think would also be open for secession? I'd like to think we could achieve Midwestern state secession movements. Are there any Confederate States within the 13 that you think would be reluctant to secede?

So far the my guess on the reluctant States would be Louisiana, Kentucky, Missouri, Florida, Virginia. Not sure on those since I am not well verse on the States. I think having the Midwestern States in the secession has strategic value to it.

I would definitely agree that Florida and Louisiana would be the most reluctant, but I think that Virginia and Kentucky would be quicker to secede than expected.

I love the idea of adding the midwestern states, but I don't know where we'd put the extra stars Wink

I think the midwestern states and parts of California would seceed. I also think that a big problem for any state would be that the citizens would have to give up money received from federal programs i.e. medicare, welfare and food stamps, military and other federal retirements, etc.

It would have to be done for a new nation, but perhaps those programs would come back as the nation becomes more politically and economically stable.

I am inclined to believe a number of Western States would jump on board. Each for different reasons.
Hawaii I question it, California would surprise me, Washington,,,no,,,and my own State Utah, I question it.
But I think Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado and Nevada just might.
I need to have a conversation with my cousin in New Mexico, see if I can pursuade him.

Oregon,,,No vote.
My opinion is based on my visits to these States, I travel a lot.

It seems that Lincoln's West Virginia that was carved out of Virginia, to have more power in the Senate, has been steering away from the left based on elections history. But Virginia has been steering to the left.

Way I see it, keep steering left you will eventually hit an oncoming car.

The conversation I hear these days, "like what the South was about, but thats history now".
One of my customers was preaching to me about the South this week. Can I get an AMEN?

We'd have to vote out our RHINO governor and U.S. Senators in TN in order to make that happen. Outside of Memphis and parts of Knoxville and Nashville, the people would be all in, I think. That's part of the problem we have in this country. The large cities impose their will on everyone else. Their issues are totally different than those in suburbia and rural areas, but they force their opinions and restrictions on everyone else.

That is unfortunately true. But that is also the anomaly. Man was never intended to live in little boxes stacked on top of one another. That's my opinion.
