What can I do??
Hello everyone,
I was just wondering what could I do. I know that there are quiet a lot of people who are still Confederates but how do I reach out to them to stand up, minus the radicals. I know that if the states where to succeed then the numbers would be stacked against the south. So I know there are peaceful means to succeed. I would like to start a political party locally or maybe an organization in the town I live at currently in KY or a nationwide one. I would like some help on how to do this if anyone has any knowledge on what I should do and whether or not I would get support from the community on this site? Also if anyone has any ideas on where to begin maybe a website? I am also looking for support. If there is already something like this that is already established it would be greatly appreciated if I could get some information on it. Thanks to everyone.

Re: What can I do??
Exactly, what state do you currently reside in? Let's brainstorm on what we can do? That is if you are willing? Like you said in my new member topic everyone has the Confederacies views they just do not know what they are looking at. Let us show them what they are looking at, there is a quote I always live by that is "if you sow the seeds the crops will not grow, but if you sow the seeds and water them each day come harvest time your crops will be plentiful." That saying that we have to commit to what ever we come up with, we have to keep watering the crops. I am a southerner by the grace of God, and by the grace of God I will make sure Ole Dixie is set free as the Confederate States of America "Deo Vindice".

Re: What can I do??
Out here in Utah, when folks are complaining about the size of the Federal Government, I say,"Thats what the Civil War was realy about". So far it seams to be helping??? I travel all the time, Idaho, Wyoming, Nevada, Arizona,,,and Utah. Thats why I was away from the forum for a couple weeks.
You all live in the South?
The "Big Lie" I call it, seams to be the biggest issue I fight with. Long ago I read an article in a Civil War magazine about Robert E.Lee and his family.
Sure there were bad folks in the South, no more than the North.

Yeah I live in the south. I travel from North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Kentucky. The problem I have is with teachers they seem to want to skew away from the facts but I get in long debates with them about it and always come out on top. Do you remember the article that you read? If you could help me locate it to read it or give me some points that people say about Robert E. Lee that you are having trouble with I could help you out. I am a really good debater. Actually took a class on debating material. You have to tackle the credibility of the article and its sources of information. For example I ask people that if Lincoln was such a great president why did he not free the slaves in all states with the Emancipation Proclamation because the border states like Kentucky where exempt from freeing slaves. Also the fact that Lincoln suspended the writ of Habeus Corpus? As well as his letter that said if he could avoid slavery and save the union he would. Look up the letter Abraham Lincoln wrote to Horace Greeley.

I think you are on to something there. The first thing that anyone who is preparing to do battle with Yankees and reconstructed southerners is to know your facts. So the first step could be to put together a group of like-minded individuals who want to learn about the history of the War for Southern Independence. That's what it was and that's what it should be called. Always. Read everything, particularly if it was written before 1945. Current so-called history books are hoey for the most part. Arm yourself with the truth. Buy The South Was Right by James Ronald and Walter Donald Kennedy. Also, get Vol I of Douglas Southall Freeman's book R. E. Lee, from the library. It's the best biography on our dear General. Also, read Immortal 600 by Karen Stokes. By the time you make it half way through any of these, you'll be ready to take on any teacher and stay on point.confederateson1342 wrote:Yeah I live in the south. If you have an idea to put something like that together, I'd love to facilitate it on the main website. Make a little organization out of it and put it online. I've been wanting to do something like that, anyhow.
Re: What can I do??
Let me give some thought to that. We may be able to put together an educational topic board. I have a couple of family reunions that I'm trying to prepare for, so let me get past those and think about how to make it interesting.
